Flat closed hook HOPs (HookHOPs)

This tool allows you to lock a chain at the desired length.  Pass the chain through a shackle or hole and insert the flat hook onto the chain link located right next to the shackle.  Its folded and long design allows ergonomic handling even with winter gloves or mittens.  It offers increased ease of operation compared to a bombarde or a closed chain hook (grab hook).  Due to its elongated shape, it also tends to stay in place better than a hook.
This hook is not designed to pull or lift a load.  It should only be used to block a chain with ¼ inch diameter links.
This type of hook was originally used on chain tensioners in the transport of logs.
The flat hook is made of premium painted steel with a thickness of 0.25 in. A 3/8 inch hole at its base allows it to be attached to the end of a chain or to a skidding plate.
